Otago Boys High School

Otago Boys High School (OBHS) Rowing Club is one of New Zealand’s oldest and leading school boy rowing clubs.

Hamish Bond and Carl Meyer are some of our most famous alumni.

Our senior OBHS rowers, Ben Mason and Reuben Cook, were selected for the New Zealand Junior (U19) team in 2019 and 2021, respectively.

OBHS is currently the New Zealand champions in the U18 4X, U17 2X and men’s Club 2X.

OBHS rowing attracts a large number of high school students over all year groups and from diverse family backgrounds across New Zealand.

For Novice rowers or those just beginning their rowing journey, the focus is on enjoyment and accepting the challenges set by the coach.

For the more experienced rowers, the focus is to push themselves further and reach above their achievements from the previous years and strive to achieve at the highest level, the Maadi Cup.
