School Information
Important Boat Park Information for Schools
Trailers will only be able to park in their allocated trailer spot from Thursday 20 March at 10am. Trailers arriving before this time will be allocated a temporary trailer park to the right of Gate 2 (referred to as zone ‘D2’).
Schools will be able to erect a 3 x 3 gazebo adjacent to their trailer. This should give coaches and crews some shelter for team talks and so on. Each School will be provided with one Support vehicle pass. Support vehicles will be able to park at either Gate 1(Judd Lane) or Gate 2.
Parade - Sunday 23 March
Please assemble at Cambridge Primary School, 17 Wilson Street, Cambridge, no later than 12:15pm on Sunday 23 March. The parade starts at 12:30pm and will be led by Cambridge High School.
You will march up the left hand side of Victoria Street and will finish at Victoria Square where you will welcomed and the Best Banner will be awarded.
While marching, do not veer over to the other side of the road as traffic will still be flowing.
Photography
Accredited Media may be provided access to the start wall & finish area. No drones are permitted at this regatta with exception of the event videographers and drone and the drone use for livestreaming purposes.
Under regatta conditions, Schools have agreed to having photographs, videos and/or other images taken of their students, supporters, volunteers, coaches during the regatta and these may be used for media and promotion purposes in connection with this event or future events by Rowing NZ and their sponsors.
Party Concerns
A reminder that after complaints were received and the concerns of the School Committee around young people and alcohol NZSSRA and Rowing NZ do not endorse any form of “party” at the Maadi Regatta.
There is no hosting permitted on the embankments after the conclusion of the event.
Smoke, Drug, Alcohol Free
Reminder to all schools the 2025 Maadi Regatta is Smoke, Alcohol and Drug Free.
Media Enquiries
Each year Rowing NZ welcome media to the Maadi Regatta. We are very proud to share the success of school rowers, and welcome any suggestions from schools about athletes, crews or coaches that may be of interest to media. This may include strong athlete performances, overcoming adversity, family links, interesting donations of equipment, or a late transition to the sport of rowing.
