Rowing NZ is opening nominations for a self-funded Beach Sprint development squad to contest the 2026 World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals in Qingdao, China (18-21 October).

The pathway is about building athletes toward LA28 and beyond.

Key points:

• Open to Open and U19 rowers across single, double and mixed classes.

• Crews are selected on potential; not all classes will be filled.

• Selection runs through a development camp (4-5 July) and a selection trial at Orewa (18 July). All trialists attend both.

• Self-funded campaign, athletes contribute up to $8,000.
