Rowing NZ + Aon NZ
We are pleased to announce that Aon New Zealand have committed to another two-year partnership with Rowing New Zealand.
Aon has been a major partner of Rowing New Zealand for over 15 years. Aon has a genuine desire to work with Rowing New Zealand to foster and promote rowing among secondary school aged students - the key focus of Aon’s partnership being the sponsorship of the largest school sports event in Aotearoa - the New Zealand Secondary Schools Rowing Championships or the Aon Maadi Regatta as it is commonly referred to.
Rowing New Zealand and Aon have been working closely over the last three months on plans for the next Aon Maadi Regatta which is being held in March 2023 at Lake Karāpiro. These plans include a new range of Aon Maadi Regatta merchandise designed and produced by Rowing New Zealand’s apparel partner 776BC. There will be a new winner’s tee, and the off-water competitions (banner and mascot) prizes are shaping up to being something we think our rowers will really want to win. Also, Aon is looking to have an interactive area at the regatta where competitors and spectators will be able to have some fun. All of this is on top of the usual sensational experience our rowers have come to expect at the Aon Maadi Regatta.
The Aon team would also like to share that the Aon Laszlo Legacy initiative will continue, and you will see another pair of fantastic Laszlo single skiff boats for winners of the U/17 boy's and girl’s finals. Not every school can enter an eight, or even a team of four, but most schools in the country participate in the single scull event. By supporting the under 17 age group, Aon are encouraging capable and determined young athletes to have the opportunity to put their best foot (or oar) forward the following year, with a boat manufactured with the latest innovative rowing technology.
2023 is going to be an exciting year for the partnership!
Rowing New Zealand would like to thank Aon for their continued generosity and support of our sport.
