Winter Performance and Development Hubs Nominations 2024
Winter Performance and Development Hub nominations are now open for the following athlete groups:
- Performance level athletes seeking consideration for the 2024-2025 RNZ Summer Squad with the aim of being part of RNZ LA 2028 cohort.
- Performance or Development level athletes seeking consideration for the 2024-2025 Summer Performance Hubs and targeting Elite/U23 team selection in 2025.
- RNZ Pathway athletes at any level who wish to train over the winter.
Athletes selected into 2024 representative teams (U23/U21/U19/World University) are automatically accepted into their regional Winter Development Hub to train remotely before the campaign begins or in between camps.
Athletes must contact their respective Pathway Lead to review 2023-2024 on and off water performances and discuss their nomination.

Winter Performance Hub athletes must meet the following requirements:
- 5km Erg (week beginning 20th May 2024)
- 2km Erg (week beginning 17th June 2024)
- Winter Performance Regatta (19th-21st July 2024)
The Winter Performance Regatta will involve a 2km erg test on Friday 19th July, then 2km racing in 1X or 2- on Saturday 20th July and Sunday July 21st.
The above results will be submitted to both the Summer Squad Selection Panel and Pathway Team for final selection.
Winter Development Hub athletes (who are not part of 2024 U19/U21/U23/World University teams) must meet the following requirements:
- 5km Erg (during the month of August 2024)
- 2km Erg (during the month of September 2024)
- Trial for your regions Interprovincial Team
The above results will be submitted to the Pathway Team to determine your RNZ Pathway status in October for the summer of 2024/2025.
2024 Winter Performance and Development Hub athletes will be announced Monday 18th March.
