The Passing of Gerhard Meyboden
Many New Zealand umpires will have fond memories of Gerhard Meyboden, who sadly passed away in his city of Hamburg last week.
Gerhard came to NZ as a member of the Jury for the 2010 Lake Karapiro World Championships, and returned on many occasions, including working at Maadi Cup and NZ Championships at both Twizel and Karapiro.
His outgoing manner, generosity and sense of humour endeared him to many Kiwis.
RIP Gerhard.
