Stella Clayton-Greene

Stella began rowing for Hauraki Plains College in 2013 where she completed a successful few years competing in the sculling events at Maadi. Shortly after her high school career, Stella moved over to Cambridge joining Waikato RPC which helped her gain selection into the 2018 New Zealand Junior team where she achieved a bronze medal in the women's double sculls with teammate Kathryn Glen. In the years following Stella got to travel with the NZ U23 team to Sarasota before Covid lockdowns where the team was unable to travel.

At the end of 2021, Stella was selected into the Elite Development Team and progressed well, earning her a spot in the Elite Women's Quad in 2022. Stella competed at the World Rowing Cup II in Poznan, Poland, then the Henley Royal Regatta and World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland. Finishing at the World Rowing Championships in Racice, Czech Republic in 2022. Stella and her crew in the Women's Quad came away with 4th in the B-Final in a very competitive field.

Stella has now been selected into the 2023 Elite Team in the Women's Sweep Squad, coached by Matt Cameron. Stella was named in one of the Elite Women's Pairs with Catherine Layburn for World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland. Unfortunately, the crew were not able to put their best performances out on the water due to illness.

Stella is also completing a Bachelor of Communication in Digital Marketing and owns her own grazing table business.
