Jack started rowing at Auckland Grammar School in 2015. He was predominantly a sweeper throughout high school, showing glimpses of success in his last school season claiming Bronze in the Boy's U18 Pair at the 2018 Aon Maadi Regatta.

After high school, Jack was selected for the 2018/19 Auckland RPC Squad. He claimed two Bronze medals in the U20 & U22 Men's Pairs at the 2019 National Rowing Champs, earning himself a trial and entry into the 2019 NZ U21 Rowing Team that won the Rusty Robertson Trophy. He also was a member of the 8+ that won the Hebberley Shield in his first year at Waikato University. Jack went on to have another successful season with Auckland RPC, winning the Men's U20 Pair at the 2020 NZ National Rowing Champs.

During this time in 2020 and moving into 2021, he was spending more time with two oars in his hands sculling. Jack's perseverance and hard work paid off during the uncertain times of Covid, as he went on to compete with Auckland RPC for another summer, claiming two National Titles. Jack won Gold at the 2021 NZ Rowing Champs in the Men's U22 Double with partner - Harry Church, then won his first Premier National Title in the Men's Premier Eight - earning himself a Red Coat. After impressing selectors, he was named in the 2021 Men's U23 Squad which unfortunately did not travel overseas due to Covid. Jack spent the winter training hard and performing well domestically, moving into the 2021/22 Elite Development Squad.

The year 2022 was a highlight year for Jack, being named in the 2022 NZ Men's U23 Quad that went on to claim Bronze at the U23 World Rowing Championship in Varese, Italy. After three years of no international competition, the hard-work really paid off for the talented rower. Jack came back to New Zealand and competed at the 2022 Aon University Champs, claiming the National University Men's Single Title. Jack was re-selected into the Elite Development Squad for the summer of 2022/23, where he has been excelling in sculling. Jack teamed up with fellow Auckland Grammar School Old-Boy - Matt Macdonald in the Men's Premier Double, claiming Bronze at the 2023 NZ National Rowing Championship. He also performed well in the Men's Premier Single making the A-Final, competing against world-class athletes.

Jack gained an Elite Trial and impressed selectors, being named in the 2023 Elite Men's Sculling Squad, coached by Gary Roberts. Jack made his Elite Rowing debut at the 2023 World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland - alongside Jordan Parry in one of the NZ Elite Men's Doubles, claiming 10th overall.

Off the water, Jack has completed a Bachelor of Business, Majoring in Finance at the University of Waikato and is currently studying for a Certificate of Financial Services. He enjoys spending time at the beach, diving and fishing, and flying his drone.
