Rangi Ruru Girls’ School is an independent girls’ school with a reputation for excellence across a wide range of academic and extra-curricular pursuits. A key ingredient to this is attracting quality coaches who can help support the development of our programmes.

We are currently seeking a Head Coach to lead the Rangi Ruru Rowing programme into the 2024/2025 season and beyond.

Rangi Ruru Rowing has a distinguished record of performance at regional and national level. The programme is well resourced and managed, and has a very active and engaged support network, from parents to sponsors. The contribution made by our rowing coaches, led by the Head Coach is critical to the programmes success on and off the water.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • have proven experience leading or delivering a secondary school rowing programme
  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • have confidence in Excel and be able to articulate a proven seat racing process
  • display outstanding leadership capability along with the ability to work as a member of a team
  • be calm under pressure and be able to work positively in high-stress situations
  • be supportive of the ethos and values of Rangi Ruru
  • operate with discretion and understand the importance of confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • place the well-being of students at the forefront of all decisions

The position includes attendance at up to four weekend regattas, three training camps and the National Secondary School Maadi Regatta.
